Profits at China"s industrial firms shrank at a faster pace in the first nine months amid pressures from high costs and a grimmer, more complicated international situation, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Thursday.
Profits at China"s industrial firms fell 2.3 percent year-on-year to 6.24 trillion yuan ($864 billion) in the January-September period, widening the 2.1 percent drop recorded in the first eight months of the year, the bureau said.
During the first nine months, profits recorded by mining firms and industrial firms which supply electricity, heat, gas and water grew by 76 percent and 4.9 percent respectively, while profits at manufacturing firms shrank by 13.2 percent.
Notably, profits of equipment manufacturing enterprises rose by 0.6 percent on a yearly basis, after a 2 percent drop in the first eight months.
Zhu Hong, a senior statistician with the bureau, said that while industrial profits fell in September, the decline narrowed by 6 percentage points from August.
Zhu warned of difficulties and challenges such as high costs, a more complicated and grimmer international political and economic situation, saying more efforts will be made to fully implement the existing stimulus policy measures and consolidate the foundation for recovery in the industry.
In September, China"s value-added industrial output grew by 6.3 percent year-on-year after a 4.2 percent rise in August, while China"s factory-gate inflation fell to its slowest pace in 20 months in September.
10月27日，国家统计局发布数据显示，1-9月份，全国规模以上工业企业利润总额同比下降2.3%，但工业企业营收呈现较快增长，利润的行业结构也有不断改善，电力、热力、燃气及水生产和供应业的利润明显回升。
从营收上看，工业企业营收呈现较快增长：1-9月份全国规模以上工业企业营业收入同比增长8.2%，当月利润降幅持续收窄。
从结构上看，装备制造业利润由降转增，工业企业利润行业结构不断改善：1-9月份，装备制造业利润同比增长0.6%，今年以来首次由降转增，拉动规模以上工业企业利润增速较1-8月份回升0.8个百分点。
另外，石油和天然气开采业利润总额同比大增，电力、热力、燃气及水生产和供应业的利润明显回升：1-9月份，电力、热力、燃气及水生产和供应业利润同比增长4.9%，今年以来首次由降转增，拉动规模以上工业企业利润增速较1-8月份回升0.6个百分点。
国家统计局工业司高级统计师朱虹在解读工业企业利润数据时表示，总体看，工业企业效益延续恢复态势，但当前工业企业利润同比仍在下降，企业成本水平仍然较高。

China will see a growth of more than 100 percent of international flights as the new winter/spring season approaches, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) said on Wednesday, as the country is taking measures to facilitate international travel for key personnel exchanges. In Q3, the volume of international passenger trips surged 73.3 percent from Q2 to 537,000, said the CAAC. Industry data also show the average price of air tickets in October costs less than 10,000 yuan, dropping 19 percent compared with last month.
冬春航季国际航班将增加一倍：10月26日，民航局举行新闻发布会披露，2022/23年冬春航季的最新国际客运航班数量为每周840班，也就是420个往返航班，同比2021/22年冬春航季增长105.9%。随着国际客运航班有序恢复，国际航线旅客运输量回升明显，三季度国际航线共完成旅客运输量53.7万人次，较二季度增长73.3%。航旅纵横数据显示，截至10月24日，10月国际航线平均票价（不含税）约为10000元，环比9月下降近19%。
China"s services outsourcing sector posted a double-digit growth in the first three quarters, according to data from the Ministry of Commerce on Wednesday. The total contract value of Chinese enterprises involved in services outsourcing business reached 1379.4 billion yuan, up 12.9 percent year-on-year, while execution value jumped 12.6 percent to 947.1 billion yuan.
前三季度服务外包产业稳步增长：商务部26日对外公布数据显示，今年前三季度，我国企业承接服务外包合同额13794亿元，执行额9471亿元，同比分别增长12.9%和12.6%。
Chinese state-owned shipping giant Cosco got the green-light by the German government on Wednesday to buy a 24.9 percent stake in the Tollerort terminal of Hamburger port, where Cosco will have no voting rights. Cosco made a bid last year to take a 35 percent stake in one of logistics firm HHLA"s three terminals in Germany"s largest port.

Chinese auto giant Geely Holding Group denied a report that said Meizu Technology, its recently acquired smartphone unit, plans to start making cars, adding that Meizu will only provide services to auto manufacturers. This came after media reported that Meizu recently posted job vacancies for a number of auto-related positions on a recruitment website.

Postal Savings Bank of China plans to raise 45 billion yuan to replenish its tier one capital for development by issuing more than 6.77 billion A shares. The bank made that plan known at the same time it announced its net profit in the first nine months of the year jumped 14 percent to 73.9 billion yuan year-on-year. Operating revenue in the first nine months also increased by 7.79 percent to 256.9 billion yuan.
邮储银行前三季净利涨14.5%：中国邮政储蓄银行10月26日公布的2022年第三季度报告显示，截至9月末，邮储银行资产总额13.52万亿元，较上年末增长7.43%；负债总额12.71万亿元，较上年末增长7.74%。今年前三季度，邮储银行实现营业收入2,569.31亿元，同比增长7.79%；实现归属于银行股东的净利润738.49亿元，同比增长14.48%。 同日，邮储银行还公布了A股定增的计划，拟非公开发行A股股票不超过67.77亿股(含本数)，募集资金总额不超过人民币450亿元(含本数)。
Ping An Insurance Group, China"s largest insurer by market value, on Wednesday reported a 6.3 percent fall in net profit in the first three quarters "due to COVID-19 and falling capital markets," the company said in a stock exchange filing. Chinese education firm New Oriental Education and Technology Group reported a 9 percent leap in net profit in the first fiscal quarter of 2023, while revenue fell 43 percent to $744.8 million. Net profit was $66 million in the three months ended Aug. 31, thanks to cost reductions and new businesses such as its e-commerce studio Oriental Select, the company said in its earnings report yesterday. Meanwhile, its cash and cash equivalents, term deposits and short-term investments totaled approximately $4.3 billion. Its New York-listed stock skyrocketed over 28 percent on Wednesday.

Shares in WuXi AppTec surged as much as 9 percent in Hong Kong today after China’s largest contract pharmaceutical research and development firm achieved record sales in the third quarter, breaking past 10 billion yuan for the first time, as large-scale production projects generated strong cash flow. The strong results propelled the firm to a record first three quarters, with profit more than doubling year on year to 7.4 billion yuan and revenue soaring 71.9 percent to 28.4 billion yuan, according to the company’s unaudited financial report released yesterday. The firm has shelved its plan to raise HK$7 billion through a new share sale in Hong Kong, it added.
药明康德单季收入首超百亿：26日晚间，药明康德发布2022年第三季度业绩报告，期内营收106.38亿元，同比增长77.76%；归母净利润27.42亿元，同比增长209.11%；归属于上市公司股东扣非净利润23.82亿元，同比上涨143.31%。这是药明康德单个季度收入首次超100亿元。药明康德公告还表示，决定终止增发境外上市外资股（H股）的计划。

A Hong Kong court has ordered that a unit of Chinese developer Yango Group to be wound up in the first case of its kind against a mainland builder in the SAR since last year. The court issued an order for Yango Justice International to be shut down and its assets liquidated, according to the website of Hong Kong’s Official Receiver.
阳光城境外发债主体被颁“清盘令”：近日，A股上市公司阳光城旗下境外主体阳光城嘉世国际有限公司被香港法院颁布清盘令，为大型中资房企近年来在香港首例。10月27日午间，阳光城方面对媒体表示，目前事件没有新进展，上述债券本息尚未还清，公司将继续和债权人沟通协商。

Chinese A-share stocks edged lower on Thursday, as bleak industrial profit figure weighed on sentiment, while Hong Kong shares followed Asian markets higher amid hopes that global central banks will slow monetary tightening. The benchmark Shanghai Composite lost 0.55 percent a nd the Shenzhen Component fell 0.63 percent. Hong Kong"s Hang Seng index added 0.72 percent as the Tech index gained 1.11 percent.
